Chapter 12 — Low Water

Draft
FileEditViewInsertFormatTools

The tide went out at noon and didn't come back. By dusk the harbor was a field of glass — wet sand holding the sky so perfectly that Mira Ves could walk across the clouds.

She stopped where the old pier ended. Somewhere under her boots was the city Oren Hale swore was only a story, waiting one tide deep.

“You hear that?” Oren called from the seawall. She did. Far out, past the last buoy, the Tidewarden had started to sing.

Try a phase:

(01) Overview

Serialized stories have more moving parts than a word processor was built for. Writer's Canvas keeps the whole series together — chapters and panel scripts, characters and world, timelines, storyboards and the production pipeline — and arranges its tools around the phase of work you're in.

(02) Features

What it does.

  1. 01

    Workflow phases

Worldbuilding, Outlining, Drafting, Production, Review. Each phase brings forward the tools that matter now.

  2. 02

    A proper manuscript editor

Slash commands, focus mode, split view, and version history: twenty today, one a day for ten days, named snapshots forever.

  3. 03

    Panel scripts & storyboards

Shot types, transitions, speech, thought and narration, an SFX library, and storyboards that read left-to-right or right-to-left.

  4. 04

    Characters, places, lore

Deep character profiles, relationship maps and arc tracking, an interactive world map and a story timeline.

  5. 05

    AI Insights

Feedback, not ghostwriting: style, pacing, continuity and voice-consistency analysis of what you have already written.

  6. 06

    Production pipeline

Script, thumbnail, sketch, line, color, letter, QA, published — tracked per chapter, with a release schedule.

  7. 07

    Local spell check

Spelling and grammar run in the browser via WebAssembly, and learn your character and place names.

  8. 08

    Offline first

Keep writing without a connection; changes sync when you are back online.

(03) Workflow
