Paintings and works on paper.
Lexington, Kentucky
(01) Overview
An editorial catalogue of paintings at honest proportions, a print store, and a gallery you can walk through where every piece hangs at its true size. The visible layer is a grid, big images and almost no chrome. The engineering sits underneath.
(02) Features
What it does.
- 01
A gallery you can walk
A twenty-six-metre white-cube room in the browser. Every painting hangs at true size under its own track light.
- 02
Prints sized from the painting
Print products are derived from each work’s proportions, and every line is re-priced on the server.
- 03
Deep zoom, no watermark
Look closely: tiles are cut on demand from private high-resolution masters instead of stamping the image.
- 04
Originals verified by NFC
Each original carries a tag. Tap it with a phone and the site confirms the piece is genuine.
- 05
A studio behind the site
A passkey-only admin for works, orders, commissions and the mailing list — with its own analytics.
- 06
Commissions & mail
Commission threads with email replies, and a double opt-in list with campaigns written in plain text.
(03) The gallery
A room you can walk through.
- Room
- A 26 × 14 × 5 m white cube with a vestibule, a partition wall and an alcove.
- Hanging
- Every work at true size. A deterministic planner puts the largest piece on the wall facing the entrance.
- Light
- One warm track spotlight per work, with soft shadows and a reflective parquet floor.
- Controls
- WASD and pointer-lock on desktop, a joystick on phones, and deep links that start you in front of a given work.
- Fallbacks
- A quality toggle for slower machines and a plain version for browsers without WebGL.
